I Sandra feel a deep sadness for the loss of a gorgeous and a great man whom l’ve known since attending North London College. I recalled that Benji was the gp to person especially for us young ladies who needed practical and emotional advice. Benji was never imature or childish like some of the other guys. He was respected for his inner wisdom, beinhhumble with deep emotional integrity, calm demeanour. Benji was well beyond his years, so special with an unforgettablee smile and warmth. This regal man is a legend hd will be missed but will never be forgotten. Benji is now in peace God’s kingdom with his ancestors. His wife Pat and their children and Grandchildren. l praise this family for showing incredible strengths following Benji’s passing. I pray they continue to heal, keep strong by cherishing those memories Benji left inside of you. Amen

My deepest condolences to the family
Benjamin was studying at The North London College in the 70’s as so many of us were; In those Radical Wonder years . We had a unity in that season which seems to have wained.
I knew “Benjy” (as he was affectionately known by all)o be a a calm caring. Jovial & well loved person whose sweet spirit permeated the room. I can’t remember when Last I saw him. It has to be over 35 years, but his calm pleasant demeaner is a vivid memory.
Sadly funerals have become the new reunion.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Without a doubt Bengy will be very much missed by any one who knew him.
God comfort you in your grief
    Cherish the memories
    My deepest Sympathy

    Benji.
You were always a fighter. When we first met at the playcentre at Parliament Hill Fields, circa 1964, you were a fighter. When Tommy, you and I were at Sir William Collins school in Sommers Town in Camden, you were a fighter . When we roamed the streets of London from north to south and east to west, as young black youths trying to find our way, in a racially challenging society , you were a fighter. In your old age as you battled the illness that finally took you from us you remained a fighter. You fought a good fight but the fighting is over and now you are enjoying a well deserved rest. May the Lord grant you peace and eternal rest. To
Pat , Tommy , all the Simmons family members and Benji’s friends may God grant us all the grace to bear his loss. I shall treasure our times together and you will forever live in my heart. I am not able to be physically present but my son, with whom I shared stories of our childhood , will represent me. From Lagos with fond memories.

  5. This is for the beautiful family Benji has departed from.
He was a one off, Unique. A constant in my life and in my sisters life.
There is a notable gap in our lives and the wider community..
The love & popularity will be visible here today.
In these closing years you fought this last battle like a true soldier.
A regular hero, you took the fight to your relentless and uncaring enemy and as best as possible engaged where ever the fight took you.
And let’s not forget your troop.
    Together an unbeatable unit.
    I say again UNBEATABLE!

Who knew, as a 12 year old boy with only 1 amazing sister that I’d be gaining a brother . 52,years, where did that go?
Not being there in person to support your troop is killing me. For that reason and common sense, today I have to sound a retreat so I can fight another day.
Age and health are my opponents on the battlefield. You showed me how I should deal with them and I try my best to use the example you had set. Well cath up on the flip side Jah willing!

    Gone but never forgotten.
For the last time, BLESS! My brother.
    David.
